Hopkins Market is the next chapter in the story of Hopkins Farm.
For nearly seven generations, the Hopkins family has farmed in the Lewes area. Hopkins Farm has been part of the local agricultural community for well over a century, growing and evolving alongside Sussex County while remaining rooted in agriculture and family.
Located inside the former “Hospital Barn,” the market is taking shape within one of the farm’s historic buildings. Built the same year Amy and Ingrid’s father, Walt Hopkins, was born, the barn is receiving its first major renovation and a new purpose for the next generation of the farm.
That has always been part of the Hopkins Farm story: reuse what we can, update what we have, and keep these buildings working in new ways. Over the years, the farm has continued to evolve through ventures like Hopkins Farm Creamery, Hopkins Heartland, and now the transformation of the Hospital Barn into Hopkins Market.

For decades, dairy farming was at the heart of Hopkins Farm.
For decades, dairy farming was at the heart of Hopkins Farm. At its peak, Green Acres maintained a herd of nearly 600 milking cows and produced more than 12 million pounds of milk annually. Following the retirement of the dairy herd in 2022, the family remained committed to preserving the farm's future while creating new opportunities for agriculture, tourism, and community connection.
Today, Hopkins Market is a place where residents and visitors can gather around fresh food, local products, and experience all the farm has to offer. We prioritize local growers and producers whenever possible, working with farmers and food makers across Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic while partnering with trusted regional suppliers to provide greater variety throughout the year.

While the market is under construction, guests are invited to visit the open-air Mini Market, located behind Hopkins Farm Creamery at 18186 Dairy Farm Road in Lewes.
